Organ Transplant

Introduction

ORGAN & TISSUE TRANSPLANTATION

Organ and tissue transplantation is among the most sensitive and complex medical fields, where success depends on accurate diagnosis, comprehensive evaluation, and strict adherence to medical, legal, and ethical standards.

At MondeCare, we coordinate organ and tissue transplantation programs in Egypt through a network of accredited hospitals, specialized consultants, advanced laboratories, and diagnostic imaging centers, ensuring that all procedures comply fully with Egyptian laws and approved medical protocols.

In addition to expert medical coordination, MondeCare partners with leading healthcare networks to ensure every patient receives a transparent, evidence-based, and highly personalized treatment pathway. Our role focuses on providing the professional insight and logistical support necessary to guarantee a safe, successful, and stress-free recovery journey. At MondeCare, we never rush cardiac decisions; we choose the safest path, because every heart decision shapes a life.

Legal Framework for Organ Transplantation in Egypt

Organ transplantation in Egypt is governed by a strict legal framework that criminalizes organ trafficking in all forms and requires that all donations be:

  • Voluntary and ethical.
  • Free of any financial compensation.
  • Fully documented through approved medical and legal pathways.
  • Kidney and liver transplantation follow a documented medical, legal, and judicial process, ensuring full protection for both donor and recipient.

Pre-Transplant Diagnosis & Medical Evaluation

No transplantation decision is made without a comprehensive and accurate medical evaluation, which may include:

  • Advanced Laboratory Testing: Organ function tests, immunological assessments, infectious disease screening, HLA compatibility testing when indicated, and genetic evaluations in selected cases.
  • Diagnostic Imaging: CT scans, MRI, ultrasound and Doppler studies, advanced vascular imaging, and functional organ assessments.
  • Evaluation Goals: Donor and recipient safety, optimal timing, complication reduction, and improved success rates.

Transplant Programs Coordinated by MondeCare

  • Kidney Transplantation: Blood group compatibility is required. HLA tissue matching is an accepted criterion. Includes comprehensive donor and recipient evaluation, surgical coordination, and long-term follow-up.
  • Liver Transplantation: Blood group compatibility is required, though tissue matching is not typically required. Advanced laboratory tests and imaging are performed, and donor selection prioritizes safety for both donor and recipient.
  • Bone Marrow Transplantation: Success primarily depends on Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) matching. Blood group compatibility is not an absolute requirement; donor and recipient may have different blood types. After successful transplantation, the recipient’s blood type gradually changes to match the donor’s. All procedures are performed with strict precautions to prevent immune reactions.
  • Corneal Transplantation: Precise diagnosis of corneal diseases, selection of suitable donor tissue from accredited sources, and microsurgical procedures aimed at restoring vision.
  • Cochlear Implantation: Advanced audiological assessment, careful candidate selection, surgical coordination, and post-implant auditory rehabilitation.
